5 WWE divas who made millenials fall in love with wrestling

WWE diva Torrie Wilson

For a lot of Indians, especially those in their early 20s now, the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) was extremely formative. Siblings and friends were choke-slammed and rock-bottomed, imaginary fights were fought at school and the divas were drooled over.

The "WWE Divas" formed an integral part of the WWE culture. In hindsight, the way they were depicted was pretty sexist and their appearances were mostly cosmetic, but they were important nonetheless.

Here are the top five divas from the glory years, mostly because they were all fabulous:

Trish Stratus

WWE Diva Trish Stratus.

The numero uno, the ultimate alpha dog (is alpha bitch a thing - umm, it should be), Trish was the ultimate destroyer of all divas and hearts. She was great at everything.

Trish' Wrestlemania 22 fight against Micky James (here) was probably the greatest Divas match ever.

Trish is a legend. And always will be.

Torrie Wilson

Was she the dream of every 13-year-old in the world in the early 2000s?

Yes.

Torrie was a solid wrestler but an incredible looker.

Her side contests with Sable were incredible and the story with Dawn Marie actually marrying Torrie's dad remains one of the funniest ever.

She remains bae forever.

Maria Kannelis

WWE Diva Maria Kannelis.

Forever the most underrated diva, Maria was an absolute killer. Dreamy, mysterious, a revolution in the first ever WWE Diva Search.

She later became a presenter and had a twisted yet captivating relationship with peak John Cena.

Maria was an enigma in the middle 2000s in WWE.

Sable

WWE Diva Sable.

She was past her prime by the time the 2000s rolled in, but even was ever glorious.

Sable was one of the first WWE divas and became an icon before the business became the behemoth it is today.

Her later fueds with Torrie were legendary, alongside her hilarious storyline with big boss Vince McMahon.

Lita

WWE Diva Lita.

Dang!

The third Hardy in Team Xtreme, Edge's muse, she was the most physically imposing diva of the early 2000s.

Lita's wars with Trish for Diva supremacy were incredible and she played a major part in heralding the golden era of WWE.

Wrestling with nostalgia, that's how we roll.
