Dhamey Norgay

Dhamey Tenzing Norgay is the youngest son of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, who with Sir Edmund Hillary, was the first to summit Mount Everest in 1953. He is an advocate for the rights of the Sherpa climbing community, raising awareness and seeking better safety standards, fair compensation, insurance and recognition for them. Dhamey volunteers as secretary to the Tenzing Norgay Sherpa Foundation, focusing on education, health care and preservation of the Sherpa culture.
