Netflix Korean drama All of Us Are Dead kept viewers biting their nails and on the edge of their seats praying that their favourite character doesn’t die in the chaos. Now, the zombie high school mania will return with season 2.
Actors Yoon Chan-young, Park Ji-hu, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon will also be returning to the show.
All of us dead is based on a Naver webtoon called Now At Our School, where a bunch of high school students fight for survival after a zombie outbreak following a failed science experiment.
It is not yet known when season 2 will release.
In the meantime, here are 5 best Korean zombie shows that you can watch:
1. KINGDOM
Set in the historical Joseon era, a Queen brings her King back from the dead, which sets off a deadly zombie epidemic. This series will not only give you the chills and gore, but it is steeped in cunning politics.
2. HAPPINESS
While All of Us Are dead is set in a high school, Happiness is set entirely in an apartment building. The newly constructed high-rise apartment building is sealed off after a virus outbreak that turns humans into flesh-eating zombies. The residents of the apartment struggle to survive amidst the distrust of their neighbours.
3. ZOMBIE DETECTIVE
This series takes a horrific deadly creature zombie and turns him into a dashing male lead. If you want zombies but not horror, then how about a romcom with a zombie? Yes, the female lead here falls in love with a zombie, who’s not out of his mind trying to bite at anything and everything but looking for the truth of his death.
4. DARK HOLE
In this series, humans turn into mutants, that look a lot like zombies, after inhaling a mysterious smoke.
5. SWEET HOME
So, Sweet Home borrows from the zombie concept but then deviates from it slightly. Here a mysterious illness is turning humans into deadly monsters, who also love the flesh of humans.
If a series is too much commitment for you, then you can also watch a string of amazing Korean zombie films, which I feel are better than any Hollywood production.
