American singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of rock'n'roll legend Elvis Presley, passed away on Thursday, January 12, at 54. Her mother Priscilla Presley made the announcement. The singer was hospitalised earlier on Thursday.

Cause of death: While there is no official word on Lisa Marie Presley's cause of death, media reports state that she suffered cardiac arrest.
TMZ had reported that Presley was found unresponsive at her home in California. Her husband Danny Keough performed CPS on the singer.
The medics arrived at Presley's home a few minutes later and performed CPR on her.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said that paramedics had "determined the patient had signs of life" before she was rushed to a hospital.

Born in 1968 to Elvis and Priscilla Presley, Lisa Marie Presley went on to forge a career in music. She was also known for her high-profile marriages to late pop legend Michael Jackson, and actor Nicholas Cage. She had four children, one of whom, Benjamin Keough, died by suicide in 2020.
