High on Jawan, Atlee confirms new movie with Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay

Atlee, the director of 'Jawan,' has finally dispelled rumors by confirming that he is currently writing a script for a film featuring both Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay.

Amidst the buzz surrounding the highly successful 'Jawan,' which has earned over Rs 1,000 crore, speculations emerged about a potential cameo by Vijay in a Shah Rukh Khan film. However, it seems this speculation was just a precursor to something much bigger in the making!

After the release of Jawan, anticipation escalated about the collaboration between these two superstars under Atlee's direction.

The revelation

• The discussion about the upcoming project reportedly occurred during a birthday party in Chennai, where the song "Zinda Banda" was filmed for 'Jawan.' It was at this event that Atlee, SRK, and Vijay engaged in discussions.

• Atlee said:

• Atlee also said, "Vijay Anna" also gave a go-ahead, so, I am working on it. He also stated, "I am working very hard to come up with a script for it. Let’s see."
• He also said, "It could be my next film."
• At the India Today Conclave in October 2023, Atlee expressed his desire to work with both SRK and Vijay, stating, "I would pick both. I will like to do a Rs 3000 crore film next, and my budget will allow that.
• So definitely, I will pick both. One is like a wife and the other is like a mother. I can't leave both."

Atlee is putting dedicated effort into developing the script for this potential blockbuster, he said.

Success streak

• Atlee, who marked his Bollywood debut with 'Jawan,' witnessed immense success, with the film grossing over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide.
• His previous films have also been blockbusters, with 'Jawan' joining the ranks of top-grossing Indian films alongside Dangal, Baahubali 2, RRR, and KGF.
• Apart from his Bollywood success, Hollywood action choreographer Spiro Razatos, who worked on 'Jawan,' has sparked Hollywood interest in Atlee.
• The director mentioned, "One of the studios has approached me for a film. So, that is also going on."
