Satish Shah reacts to racist comment at London Heathrow airport and wins Internet over

Veteran actor Satish Shah on Monday, January 2, recalled an incident at UK's London Heathrow airport where faced snide racism. His response to the racist comments, which he shared on Twitter, has now gone viral.

What happened: The Sarabhai vs Sarabhai actor said that he was at the London Heathrow airport and was headed to board his flight when he overheard the airport staff wondering how he and his family could afford first-class plane tickets.

His response: Shah, according to his tweet, did not let this pass. He gave the perfect response, saying that he could afford a first-class ticket because he is an Indian. "I replied with a proud smile 'because we are Indians' after I overheard the Heathrow staff wonderingly asking his mate 'how can they afford 1st class?'," he wrote on Twitter.

Heathrow airport responds: Heathrow airport also responded to Shah's tweets, apologising for its staff's behaviour.

"Good morning, we're sorry to hear about this encounter. May you DM us?" the airport tweeted.

Internet applauds Shah: Twitter users applauded Shah for standing up to the racist comments.

"Good one Sir!! They got that Heathrow from the 40+ Trillion dollars worth of looted wealth from India!" wrote one Twitter user.

"I would've added one more line - 'Get used to it'," wrote another user.

Satish Shah, 71, has appeared in several Hindi movies and TV shows. He became a household name for his portrayal of Indravadan Sarabhai in the cult classic show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. He has also acted in films like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le JayengeMain Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Ra.One.
