Singer-songwriter Taylor swift has announced the release of a brand new album. Titled, ‘Midnights’, the album will be out on October 21.

This will be Swift’s 10th studio album after Folklore and Evermore which released in 2020.

Swift first made the big announcement at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last night. This was followed by an Instagram post. She mentioned "midnight" at the end of the speech hinting towards the title of the new album.

There will be a total of 13 tracks in the album.

“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching - hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve ... We'll meet ourselves,” Swift wrote in the post.

She has also updated her Instagram bio with the release date of the new album and a link to pre-order.

At the VMAs, Swift announced the new album while accepting the award for Video of the Year. It was her third win for her 10-minute version of All Too Well.

While accepting the award, Swift said: "I wouldn’t be able to re-record my albums if it weren’t for you. You emboldened me to do that. And I had made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this [award], I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out Oct. 21. And I will tell you more at midnight."

Other than winning 'Video of the Year' at the VMAs, Swift also took home the award for Best Longform video and Best Direction for All Too Well-10 Minute Version-Taylor’s Version (re-recorded version of Red).
