Critically acclaimed Warner Bros movie, Joker is all set to make a return on the big screen. The Oscar winning super villain film’s director, Todd Phillips confirmed the sequel on his Instagram.
Phillips posted a picture that read ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ and another photo of Joaquin Phoenix (who played the title role in the first movie) reading a script.
As per the US National Library of Medicine, Folie à deux is an identical or similar mental disorder affecting two or more individuals, usually the members of a close family.
The Joker movie was able to earn over US $1 billion and 12 Oscar nominations in 2019.
With Philips' announcement, long-term DC Universe and Joker fans have been unable to contain their excitement on Twitter:
1. IT’S HARLEY’S TIME
2. A DANCE RECREATION
3. COULD BE BRUCIE/BATSY
4. BEST NEWS OF THE YEAR
5. REFLECTS THE STATUS QUO
6. THE ONLY POSSIBILITIES
7. WE’RE COMING FOR YOU
8. CRAZY HEALTHY DIET
Although fans are hoping for DC’s Harley Quinn (currently played by Margot Robbie) and Batman (currently played by Robert Pattinson), no official confirmation has been made for their appearance.
No release date has been announced yet.
