Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner fans are reaching for tissues to wipe away their tears as it's now official that the celebrity couple has called it quits. TMZ reported that Joe Jonas filed the necessary legal documents on Tuesday, September 5, to bring an end to his four-year marriage with Sophie Turner.
Earlier, insiders confirmed to TMZ that the estranged couple had been grappling with serious problems in their marriage for the past six months, and matters had deteriorated to the point where they decided to pursue a divorce.
Date of filing: Court records reveal that the American singer filed for divorce in Miami on Tuesday, September 5, and is represented by the renowned celebrity attorney Tom Sasser, who also handled Tiger Woods’ divorce.
Reason for divorce: The paperwork states that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken."
Prenuptial agreement: Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have a prenuptial agreement that was established on April 27, 2019. According to this prenup, the singer will reportedly "retain all of his royalties from his music," including earnings from his collaboration with his brothers, as well as his other band, DNCE, as reported by Page Six.
The 27-year-old actress will retain the money she earned from her role in the series Game Of Thrones and any other income from her acting career.

A source informed TMZ that one possible reason for their separation could be the fact that the two led very different lifestyles, with Turner enjoying a more social life while Jonas preferred to stay at home.
The estranged couple began dating in 2016 and tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2019. They are parents to two daughters, Willa, who was born in 2020, and their second daughter, born in 2022.
