India won six gold medals in wrestling with Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat and three others winning gold.
In weightlifting, India won three gold medals with Mirabai Chanu, Jeremy Lalrinnunga and Achinta Sheuli winning gold medals.
In badminton and boxing too, Indian athletes kept the country's flag flying high, winning 3 gold medals in each. In women's singles in badminton, PV Sindhu clinched the gold medal while Lakshya Sen won gold in men's singles. In men's doubles, Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty won the gold.
In boxing, Nikhat Zareen proved her mettle once again as she won the gold in the women's 50 kg category. Similarly, Nitu Ghanghas won gold in the women's 48 kg category.
In cricket, Indian women's cricket team won the silver medal.
In the track and field men's triple jump sport, India's Eldhose Paulcreated history by winning gold medal. In the 3000m steeple chase, Avinash Sable won India's first silver medal.
India also won 2 medals in the Lawn Bowls sport, including a gold for the women's four team.
