Kids, BJP MLC is right! Momos are dangerous

DailyTripJune 8, 2017 | 21:58 IST

For years we have been wrong. What we thought was a fluffy white ball of wholesome goodness is more insidious than anything we could have imagined. Momos are worse than drugs and alcohol.

Ramesh Arora, a member of legislative council and a BJP member from Jammu is our new saviour. Arora has declared a war on momos, a north-eastern delicacy that is the staple street food in many Indian cities.

According to a report in the National Herald, Arora, during a seminar in Jammu - attended by senior members of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, doctors and academics besides officials from the municipal corporation, Drug and Food Control department and the district administration -  said, “Our teenagers are getting addicted to the dumplings like drugs. It’s spoiling their health. We have to stop it.”

He also warned people to be wary of “foreigners including Bangladeshi and Burmese” engaged in the momo business. That makes sense; after all, it is always the good-for-nothing foreigners who force pure and pious Indians to take drugs.

“Momos have been found to be the root cause of several life-threatening diseases, including cancer of the intestine,” he said, adding that, “Momo is a killer and we cannot allow a killer to grow in a civilised society. Ajinomoto is dangerous for health.”

And he is right. DailyO has unearthed earth-shattering evidence of the same. In a series of photos below, we shall demonstrate, just how bad, momos can be to the otherwise pristine lifestyle of the urban youth. Be warned: some of the images are extremely graphic.
