Revealing the secret to avoid cancer

Sadhguru, Isha FoundationFebruary 4, 2016 | 16:33 IST

Your body is self-contained and complete. It is designed and structured to function by itself. You do not have to make your heart beat, or make your liver perform all its complex tasks.

Your body is the most sophisticated piece of machinery on the planet - the highest level of mechanics that you can imagine, the highest level of electrical connectivity that you can dream of, and the highest level of computing capability that you can conceive of.

Every cell in your body has a deep instinct to survive and be well. Getting a disease from an external organism is a different thing, and it needs treatment. But when the entire system that you refer to as your body is designed to create health for you, not disease, why is it that your own cells turn against you?

Diseases being manufactured in the body is not natural. People wrongly think it to be natural because a large population is being afflicted by it.

A reason why people are getting cancer these days is because somehow, the body, not necessarily the individual, has become unhappy.

You must have visited a garden after a light shower of rain. What do you see? All the plants seem to be almost laughing. Not only are they clean, they seem to be happy. Have you felt this?

Similarly, the physical body itself can be happy, and when it is, it will ensure that nothing wrong happens with it. If you keep the rejuvenation process strong, the body's intrinsic intelligence will function at its best and the chances of some part of your body becoming unhappy will be very low.

There are ways to enhance the rejuvenation process in the body by doing specific yogic practices involving the breath.

[The above is an extract from an eBook produced by the Isha Foundation based on Sadhguru's insights on the various causes of cancer and what can be done to go beyond the disease. The book also includes several methods and practices from the yogic system to help one lead a healthy and joyful life. Titled Cancer: A Yogic Perspective, the eBook is being offered for free download on the occasion of World Cancer Day.]
