The world is about to witness another big astronomical event. June’s first full moon known as the Strawberry moon will be visible on June 14. June’s strawberry moon is also known as Rose moon, Hot moon and Mead moon. It is known as Strawberry moon because wild strawberries start to ripe this month. However, it will not look like a strawberry or pink.
WHEN TO SPOT THE STRAWBERRY MOON
You can spot the Strawberry moon on June 14, Tuesday at 7:51am EST or 5:22pm IST. The moon will be at the closest point in its orbit around the earth. This will make the moon appear like a supermoon, making it appear brighter and larger from earth.
On June 14, the moon will be 16,000 miles closer than its normal average distance. It is supposed to appear 10% brighter than a regular full moon.
You can also watch a live telecast of the strawberry full moon online.
