In a surprising development, a renowned celebrity chef operating a popular restaurant in Perth, Australia, has sparked controversy by implementing a "vegan ban" at his establishment.
The decision stemmed from a heated altercation with a dissatisfied customer, escalating the situation into an unfortunate dispute.
Undoubtedly, this move has left vegans feeling the sting of exclusion.
Fyre, a restaurant helmed by British chef John Mountain, located in the northern suburbs of Perth, announced the ban on its social media platforms with the caption, "Yep, I'm done."
"Please go find another kebab shop somewhere that's happy to give you that plastic rubbish you enjoy to eat so much. Go and enjoy your life somewhere else.”- Chef Mountain
With approximately 30 years of experience in the industry, including working with renowned chef Marco Pierre White, Mountain expressed offense, stating, "I've worked for some of the best chefs in the world, and to be told that you're not good enough by some kind of influencer-type vegan person... kill me."
The ban has triggered mixed reactions, with prominent vegan activist Tash Peterson condemning the restaurant, labeling it as discriminatory.
It appears that the restaurant is adopting a provocative stance, serving vegans a dish of irony alongside their meal.
Bon appétit... or perhaps not!
