India is expected to become the world's second largest economy by 2075 according to a recent report by Goldman Sachs, but women’s participation in the workforce has been on a decline for the past two decades dropping from 32% in 2005 to 19% in 2021. Gender inequality in the country is very apparent in the wage gap and the lack of measures to encourage and protect women’s labour rights.
