What's the point of us living when India is dying: Superstar Mohanlal's post goes viral

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is undisputedly one of the finest actors India has produced. He is not only known as a cinema actor, but also as a theatre actor, and an avid blogger. He has, in the past, written about various socio-political issues in India, and on February 21, published a piece on his blog talking about the ongoing JNU row and the army men who were martyred in the Siachen avalanche.

The blog post titled, "What's the point of us living when India is dying", begins with a photo of Lance Naik Sudheesh's four-month-old daughter being shown her father's dead body, which the actor says made the front page of newspapers.

He then slams all those cynics who enjoy the comforts of safety and security ensured by the army - that braves extreme climatic conditions - and yet disrespect martyrs by debating what patriotism really is.

His emotional post talks about how parents should teach the essence of "nation" and "freedom" to their children. He ends the post by asking Indians: "How can we be dead when India is alive? What's the point of being alive when it's dead?"
