Peter Mukerjea on his son's relationship with Sheena

- I have been out of the country for pretty much all of the past three years.

- I am dealing with it with a great deal of difficulty as it is all very shocking. And quite disgusting really.

- I don’t know how much concoction there is, all I’m really interested in getting done is to get a clear picture by the police, to say this is what the facts are and this is what it is, whatever it is, and then let the law take its course because I am now beyond the point where I want to dance around a situation. I think the situation itself is what it is and it’s best  to be transparent about it, because  I’ve been in this thing for too long now to be feeling that I’m in a state of uncertainty.

- What the police has put in front of is all seems  logical. But just because something  is logical, it is not necessarily true. So it needs to be proven to get complete confirmation of  the facts. And then one can at least be restful that okay at least this is a clear picture.

- I have not met Indrani since all this began.

- My son Rahul, who lives in Dehradun with his mother, and the police are talking to him. He very hurt and disturbed by this. He is living through this all over again. He had come to me three years ago, extremely upset, saying that "Sheena had taken off to the US without telling me" and he had said “Something is not right”. But Indrani had not only told us that she had gone to the US, but continued to maintain that, so I tell him “Don’t be silly, look she’s there because she wants to be there, she’s fine,” and I dismissed him. Now when it’s all coming back, and that too three years later, he’s reliving the whole thing all over again. So I’d rather he not be dragged through all of this please.

- Rahul and Sheena lived together... They were two consenting adults. I myself have been married and they were not blood relatives and from a practical point of view... it’s most unusual but they were two people who could have met anywhere. I could try stop them from meeting but then it would have been something they would want to do more of and so it works in reverse.

- I really am very hurt that these last two years this is kind of story I've been living with. And it may not be true at all. I’m still holding out a little bit of hope that this is all some big mistake.

- I don’t believe at all this is concocted or politically motivated.
