Ashneer Grover back to favourite pastime of taunting BharatPe, his latest target is a top executive's exit

Ashneer Grover is still isn't over his bitter break-up with BharatPe. The ousted co-founder of the fintech company took to X/Twitter to take a jab at the exit of another BharatPe executive. BharatPe's Chief Business Officer (CBO) and former Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dhruv Bahl is set to leave the company in September.

Bahl joins a string of other top executives at the company who have left in the past one and a half years undermining the efficiency of the top management including CEO Suhail Sameer, CTO Vijay Aggarwal, and others.

BharatPe also confirmed Bahl's departure in a statement to the media:

We would like to confirm that Mr Bahl is moving on from BharatPe to pursue his entrepreneurial passions... We thank him for his contribution to BharatPe's journey and wish him all the best for future endeavours.
  • Bahl joined BharatPe in 2020 as its head of operations. Following Grover's exit, it was Bahl who steered the company through restructuring.
  • Dhruv Bahl is reportedly set to launch an investment firm with former BharatPe executives Suhail Sameer and Bhavik Koladiya.
  • Bahl seems to be following in the footsteps of his predecessor BharatPe CBO Pratekk Agarwaal, who also left the company to start his maiden investment fund.

What did Grover say?

Ashneer Grover, in what can be only described as true Grover style, put out a tweet in Haryanvi mocking BharatPe upper echelons for not being able to handle operations and the 'kids' who run the show.

"Tau tare se na hone wala, tai choudhari banan lag rhya, taare baalak chor ke bhg liye, pachhe ko ho le (Tau, the work is beyond your abilities. You act like a Chaudhary (strong man). Even your kids have fled the scene, so you step back now)," Grover said in the tweet.

Grover's tweet has gone viral, but some in the comments called him out for bad Haryanvi and even corrected him.

Grover and BharatPe

  • Grover has been bitter about BharatPe ousting him and his wife in early 2022 over fraud allegations. The company has also sued the husband, wife, and their relatives for Rs 88 crore.
  • Twitter and the media have been Grover's favourite places to call names and take jabs at the company and its present and former executives.
  • Suhail Sameer, former BharatPe CEO used to be one such executive targeted by Grover's vitriol.
  • Rajnish Kumar, BharatPe chairman has also been a target of Grover. The co-founder had said that hiring Kumar, former SBI chairman, was the biggest mistake for the company.
  • Kumar in media interviews has denied that BharatPe is facing a leadership crisis.
