IPL 2022 RR vs RCB match: 5 players to watch out for today

In today’s IPL match, Rajasthan Royals (RR) clash with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). RR, led by Sanju Samson, has been in tremendous form in this year’s IPL. They won the first match, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 61 runs, and won the second match against Mumbai Indians (MI) by 23 runs.

On the other hand, RCB led by Faf du Plessis won the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). However, they lost the first match against Punjab Kings (PK).

RR and RCB have played 24 matches against each other. Out of these, RR has won 10 matches while RCB has won 12. Two matches ended in a draw.

Tonight, it will be a tough contest for RCB as RR has been in a very good form this year.

Here are 5 key players to watch out for in tonight's RRvs RCB match:

JOS BUTLER, RR

Jos Butler has been in an explosive form this season. In his second match itself, the opener scored 100 off just 68 balls. His innings included five sixes and eleven fours. In the first match against SRH, Butler had scored 35 off 28 balls with three fours and three sixes. The wicketkeeper batter was roped in by RR at Rs 10 crore.

SANJU SAMSON, RR

The RR captain has also been in magnificent form this season. Samson scored 55 off just 27 balls in his first match against SRH. His innings included five sixes and three fours. In the second match too, he scored a decent 30 off just 21 balls. Samson will be up against Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj of RCB.

VIRAT KOHLI, RCB

After having stepped down from captaincy, Virat Kohli has been able to focus more on his batting. In the last match against KKR, Kohli scored 41 off 29 balls, which included two sixes and one four. In the first match, however, Kohli could score only 12 runs.

Kohli's hitting prowess will not be underestimated by RR today, given that he is one of the best batters of this generation. His performance in this year’s IPL will be to watch out for.

FAF DU PLESSIS, RCB

In the first match against Punjab Kings, Faf had scored 88 off 57 balls which included seven sixes and three fours. His strike rate was 154.39. The South African batter was roped in by RCB at Rs 7 crore. Before this, he was with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Faf can be an explosive batter in the powerplay overs. It will be interesting to see how he plans his game against RCB today.

MOHAMMAD SIRAJ, RCB 

RCB's Mohammad Siraj will be up against Jos Butler, Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmeyer of RR. Siraj has been in good form this year. In the first match against Punjab, Siraj took two wickets in four overs. In the second match against KKR too, Siraj bowled a good spell, conceding just 25 runs in four overs and took one wicket.
