Whatsapp groups are fun if it is your first ever school or college friends’ group. But here is a fact: Whatsapp group become irritating as you age. When all you get are work notification from those groups, you tend to hate them. Your ‘friends forever’ groups also become dead after a while.
And let’s be honest, the more the members, the bigger the trouble is. Now it is time to brace yourself as Whatsapp is about to increase the limit of group members you can add to a group.
WHAT’S THE UPDATE?
According to reports, the beta version of Whatsapp is testing the new update in which you can add up to 512 people in a group. The current limit is 256 members, which is now being increased.
The feature was officially announced in May and was being tested for a limited number of people. Now, every user with the beta version can use this feature.
Both iOS and Android users can use this feature on the beta version.
The actual release date of this feature on every Whatsapp version has not been declared yet.
“One of the top requests we’ve consistently received is the option to add more people to a chat, so now we’re slowly rolling out the ability to add up to 512 people to a group,” WhatsApp informed in an official announcement last month.
So, now it is time to get used to unwanted groups and Whatsapp forwards.
Earlier, reports suggested that the messaging app will soon allow users to edit sent messages. Right now, you can unsend or delete messages, but it notifies the receiver. With this new feature the edit button will help users change the content of the message without deleting it.
