Bigg Boss 11 blog: How Hiten Tejwani’s eviction exposed Shilpa Shinde’s game

While the eviction of Hiten Tejwani was not unexpected, the way in which it unfolded on Sunday’s Weekened ka Vaar (December 17) left many shocked and sad, including Bigg Boss host Salman Khan.

Since Bigg Boss started its journey in 2006, it was for the first time that the contestants were asked to choose between the two contestants — Hiten Tejwani and Priyank Sharma — while Luv Tyagi and Shilpa Shinde were already safe from eviction, thanks to audience votes. Bigg Boss’ decision to empower the housemates to choose one of them left everybody flummoxed as Hiten, with his acclaimed acting career in television, might have won more votes than Priyank Sharma.

Vikas is in a fix.

Puneesh supports Hiten.

Hiten was ahead of Priyank

When host Salman Khan called both Hiten and Priyank in a separate room and asked the rest of the housemates to take a call within five minutes, almost everybody, including Shilpa, said “Hiten”. Priyank was thrown out of the Bigg Boss house earlier. His re-entry as a wild card was a second chance for him. So, there was a stronger pitch for Hiten.

Hina and Luv, as expected, stood by their friend Priyank. It was a tough call for Vikas as he was close to both Hiten and Priyank. But finally, he voted for Hiten.

Shilpa Shinde

Shilpa changed mind, favoured Priyank

When it became a serious discussion of zeroing in on one name, Shilpa chose Priyank. Justifying her stand, she said that Hiten sometimes came across as an indecisive character. He tried to maintain a balance among all the power centres cropping up every week, changing the dynamics of the game.

“Now, we have arrived at such a stage of the game that we can’t afford to be diplomatic,” Shilpa said. Akash, too, voted for Priyank making Priyank’s vote count four, while Hiten had Vikas, Puneesh and Arshi in his favour.

With this Priyank re-entered the Bigg Boss house, and made it a point to thank Shilpa for her “out of turn” favour.

Diplomacy cut Hiten’s journey short?

Following Hiten’s ouster, Bigg Boss fans couldn’t keep calm and started coming up with theories behind the surprise move. A group of Twitterati believe that Hiten received the minimum number of votes, but Bigg Boss wanted to save Hiten and that’s why passed the ball to court of the housemates as Hiten was apparently more popular than Priyank.

But Shilpa turned the tables, for which Hiten fans are angry as Hiten had once saved Shilpa. However, it is true that Hiten got overshadowed by Vikas, who could not finally save him. Many are supporting Shilpa’s decision as Hiten was silent when Shilpa was targeted initially.

No, he was a strong contestant

Host Salman Khan said Hiten was ousted because he was a strong candidate. He kept his calm and played the game diplomatically. “You were the sane voice in the madhouse. You are ousted because you are strong. They got a chance to evict you. They did,” Salman said to Hiten.

Arshi was in tears while Shilpa shrugged the eviction as a regular affair and said, “I always said to Hiten that he was my competition. There’s nothing to hide here.”

More surprises are in store for the viewers as seven contestants out of the eight will get nominated today (December 18) directly for discussing about nomination, which goes against the rules of the Bigg Boss house.
