How I got a chance to ask Mr Modi about farmer suicides

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bangalore today and the roads right outside my house were blocked because he was crossing Koramangala. I was standing in my balcony, looking out to catch a glimpse of our prime minister. I thought to myself, that if I had one minute to ask him one question what would it be, hence I made a placard with the question and took to the streets, it said

"Dear Mr Modi, Our Cotton Farmers Are Committing Suicide. What can we do about it?"

Two transgender passer-bys asked me what I was doing, when I told them about how the farmers that grow our food and clothes are committing suicide every half an hour, they said they would like to join me to support the cause.

I think it is so beautiful that irrespective of our differences and varied issues in our daily lives, we took a moment to stand up for the hardworking people who grow our food and clothes, people that we need everyday of our lives.
