Let's admit it. Piers Morgan demolished Indian Twitter (and Chatan Bhagat)

DailyTripAugust 24, 2016 | 20:49 IST

Piers Morgan is well known to football fans. He's a self-confessed Arsenal buff with piping hot, straight-out-of-the-oven takes about Arsene Wenger's struggles in the transfers market, the club's failure to win the premier league and most famously, a glorious beef with Aaron Ramsey.

Morgan is emblematic of Twitter in general, polarising opinion amid his followers and creating controversy to keep the conversation going and the spotlight incoming.

On Wednesday, Morgan tweeted about India celebrating PV Sindhu's and Sakshi Malik's Olympic medals, saying that with a population of 1.2 billion, we should be embarrased celebrating just the two medals.

Piers Morgan's tweet about India's medal tally did not go down well with Indian Twitter.

For arguing, you can swing both ways, agreeing with Morgan that celebrating the two is kinda stupid or go the other way, as Indian athletes don't really get the infrastructural support a la first world countries like Great Britain, from where Morgan hails.

His comments didn't go down well with Indian Twitter obviously, who retaliated in full force.

The flaw in the plan was that Morgan has been trolled by Arsenal fans for years and is pretty well versed at giving it back.

And then he dropped another big one.

As the stakes in the battle kept rising, bigger Indian players came to the table, only to be ripped to shreds by master troller Piers Morgan.
