For everyone else PV Sindhu, India's golden girl with the long legs and fantastic smile, won the silver medal and a billion-plus hearts as she faced off with Spain's Carolina Marin, who of course, won the gold.

But not for a TV channel. It seems NDTV, in its bid to play Nostradamus, prematurely published a story that had a brilliant, if a bit too optimistic, a headline: "PV Sindhu Upsets Carolina Marin To Clinch Historic Badminton Gold in Rio Olympics."
As usual, you first heard it on Twitter.
The story, obviously a draft that was accidentally published, sent Twitter into a tizzy, exactly as Sindhu was having that gladiatorial, nail-biting match with Marin.
For a change, the bhakt universe wanted NDTV's predictions to come true.
Though some spotted a hint of gender bias even in this premature jubilation.
Exactly as #SindhuForGold trended, Twitter had to observe some control, while NDTV went Crtl, ALt, Del - for obvious reasons.
Let's say NDTV missed being right by a sliver, as Sindhu bagged the silver!
