[Hilarious] Redditors offer gems on why India doesn't shine at Olympics

Rio was supposed to be different. After our highest ever medal tally at London Olympics four years ago, we were supposed to get the double digit this time. This was India's time to rise and shine.

But sadly, we stand at zero, our national pride brought down to us hoping for a Leander Paes retirenment and leaving our tennis team the hell alone.

These are dark times for Indian sports and everyone except Sachin Tendulkar is sad in Rio. What did we do to deserve this?

Reddit India tried to investigate this and the results were brutal.

They brought back the classic Indian school kid sports trauma: 60 kids in a 20 minute break running around after one football in a tiny field.

Like how the hell are we supposed to produce Michael Phelps when most of our kids are running around for 20 minutes so they can just spot the football, leave alone kick it around.

The entire Indian youth sports culture, philosophically based on "Mujhe batting nai doge toh main apna bat lekar chale jaunga", falls apart because we don't really have many bats.
