Look ma, no feet: In 10 memes, Shivraj Singh Chouhan opens the floodgates

DailyBiteAugust 22, 2016 | 19:54 IST

Aerial inspection got a whole new meaning with Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan caught in a "suspended animation" mode of sort. That is, he was being carried across by two policemen on either side making a human chair (or throne, if you like) while he was on a field visit to survey the flood-ravaged swathes of his state.

As pictures caught on mobile phones of those who witnessed the phenomenon taking place in Amanganj tehsil of Panna district of Madhya Pradesh broke the internet on Sunday, many a newspaper, including DB Post frontpaged the image that was symptomatic of what's wrong with contemporary India, in one fine frame.

Not only is Chouhan seen being carried by policemen, there are images of his shoes being carried by a security official in a different shot, in which he was, heavens be thanked, on his feet.

Is this how wading in troubled waters looks like, literally? Is this the face and the feet of India's entrenched entitlement, its sickening sense of false pride, divinely ordained?

While we recover from the casual feudalism of the frame, recoil in urbane horror from the hierarchies firmly in place in a so-called democracy, throw fits at a BJP chief minister treating his citizens as subjects to be lorded over, here are some leaps of faith from our Department of Creative Idleness, suitably meme-fied.

When he got stuck in Gurugram like the rest of us.
And the Ganesh Visarjan...
When Bhuvan called him to play cricket in Lagaan...
Amma did a Baahubali, Shivraj did a Titanic...
When Rajini invited him to watch Kabali...
 Even NASA failed...
Er...this is embarrassing!
All hail the one who rides the chariot.
For the Win!
Triple treble move over. Shivraj beats Usain Bolt and how.
