The film is an Indian adaptation of the classic 1994 American drama Forrest Gump.
Laal Singh Chaddha is a Hindi-language comedy-drama directed by Advait Chandan from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni.
The film stars Kareen Kapoor Khan as the female protagonist.
In the premise of the film, events in India's history like Operation Blue Star, unfold through the perspective of Laal Singh Chaddha, a dim-witted man who has a great understanding of emotions.
Shah Rukh Khan also makes a special appearance in the film.
The film has received mixed reviews from the audience on the first day of its release.

India's Lakshya Sen won gold medal by defeating Malaysia's Tze Yong Ng 19-21, 21-9, 21-16 in the men’s singles event at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (CWG).
This was Lakshya Sen's Commonwealth Games debut.
“Even after losing the first game, I was hopeful of making a comeback. I am happy with the way I played the second and third game,” Lakshya said to India Today.
The Almora boy is being regarded as the future star of the sport after his maiden win at CWG.
Lakshya Sen's gold medal came an hour after PV Sindhu won her maiden singles gold medal, completing the full set of Commonwealth Games medal. 
Sen joined his mentor Prakash Padukone in an elite list after winning his maiden men's singles gold at the CWG today.
In 2021, Lakshya won his maiden World Championships medal, a bronze in Huelva, Spain.
Sen is the fourth Indian to win men's singles CWG gold.
“Stay dedicated towards the sport, follow your passion and stay professional about the sport," said Lakshya in his message to the the aspiring badminton stars.

The Indian government is developing a framework to check fake reviews on e-commerce websites.
Center held meetings with stakeholders of and discussed issues arising due to deceptive online reviews.
The meetings were conducted by the Department of Consumer Affairs.
DoCA officials met Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) along with various stakeholders like e-commerce entities, Consumer Forums, Law Universities, Lawyers, FICCI, CII, and Consumer Rights Activist. 
Paid and unverifiable reviews make it difficult for consumers to recognise genuine reviews.
The framework being planned will be put in place to monitor fake reviews.
A legal framework on the issue will also be planned.
In May 2022, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution announced that it will develop a framework to keep a check on fake reviews.
DoCA will be working on developing the framework to be followed for checking the fake and misleading reviews.

Tobacco and cigarette packets will display a new set of health warnings from December 1.
Two sets of warning messages and images will be used on both sides of the pack.
The first warning — also displayed on existing packs — 'Tobacco causes painful death', will be used with first image on one side of the pack.
The second warning will say, 'Tobacco users die young', with the second image on the other side of the pack.
