Angus Cloud, known for his role as Fezco "Fez" O'Neill in HBO's acclaimed series Euphoria, died at the young age of 25 yesterday (July 31), leaving fans and the entertainment community in shock. A possible drug overdose is suspected as the cause of death.
TMZ first reported his death, indicating that the Oakland PD responded to a 911 call reporting a "possible overdose" made by Cloud's mother. Subsequently, they revealed that Angus had been battling severe suicidal thoughts after returning from Ireland, where he had recently laid his father to rest.
As a rising star, Angus Cloud's future in the entertainment industry looked promising.
Angus Cloud was just a kid from Oakland, CA whose personality and energy was so infectious that it landed him a role in Euphoria with no acting experience. He quickly became a fan favorite and iconic character as Fezco. May he forever rest in peace 🕊️pic.twitter.com/HHfEWLWkya

Cloud's journey into acting began unexpectedly when he was approached by a casting agent while working at a chicken and waffle joint. His talent and dedication earned him the role of Fezco, propelling him into stardom.
His chemistry and friendship with co-star Maude Apatow, who played Lexi, Fezco's love interest, translated into their on-screen dynamic as "Flexi." Their relationship on the show was admired by fans for its innocence and sweetness.
Angus Cloud came into Euphoria with no acting experience and then effortlessly created the show’s most charming character. He had a long career ahead of him, but Fez alone will be an iconic character for generations. I hope he’s at peace now. pic.twitter.com/Gxp2ZSn3zA

In an interview with Variety in August 2022, Cloud expressed his frustration with fans who compared him to his character, Fezco. He emphasized that he brought a lot to the role and was not simply portraying himself. Despite the challenges, he hoped he did a good job and aspired not to be limited to a single type of character in his acting career.
The third season of Euphoria hasn’t yet begun filming. Show-creator Sam Levinson also lamented the loss of the star in a statement.
Cloud's sudden departure sparked discussions among fans, with some expressing their reluctance for the show to continue without him, underlining the significant impact he had on the series.
Aside from his role in Euphoria, Cloud also appeared in other projects, including North Hollywood and The Line, as well as in music videos for Juice WRLD and Becky G, carrying on his streak of success from the HBO series.
The entertainment industry mourned the loss of Cloud and HBO extended their deepest condolences to his friends and family.
