The latest episode of Jujutsu Kaisen has thrust Mei Mei into the spotlight as one of the most detestable characters in the series, sparking widespread controversy and discomfort among fans.

Move over Mahito - Mei Mei's greed and disturbing family dynamics take center stage in this latest episode Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. From the get-go, Mei Mei has been a shining example of self-interest, consistently putting her financial priorities ahead of, well, anything else. Money talks, and Mei Mei's moral compass takes a back seat as she shamelessly pursues wealth. The Shibuya Incident arc unveils Mei Mei's grand exit strategy – a tropical vacation in Kuala Lumpur, having sold her shares in the market, with none other than her dear little brother, Ui Ui.

Mei Mei's decision to abandon her fellow sorcerers in the midst of a crisis, opting to escape to Malaysia with her brother, raises questions about her loyalty and morality.

Enter the controversial scene that has set the internet ablaze.

Mei Mei, the master of sibling bonding, is seen in a hotel room with her brother Ui Ui. A bed. Some blushing. Oh, and did we mention the accusations of grooming and emotional manipulation? It's a family affair, and MAPPA has spared no expense in ensuring that Mei Mei's character development takes a turn for the uncomfortable.

The decision by MAPPA to include this contentious scene in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 has fueled the controversy further. The scene, which critics argue adds depth to Mei Mei's moral corruption, also has fans questioning the necessity of such explicit content.

Jujutsu Kaisen mangaka, Gege Akutami, defends Mei Mei's character as a symbolic representation of the darker corners of Jujutsu society. Greed, selfishness, and a dash of questionable familial relationships – Mei Mei's got it all. The anime's decision to showcase her return to the sorcerers' fold without any consequences only adds to her disquieting charm.

In essence, Mei Mei has become a character that fans love to hate, embodying the flaws and corruption within the Jujutsu society. Mei Mei's journey in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 has managed to stir the pot, leaving fans with a bitter taste and a desire for some sorcerer therapy.
