Techno-artist Grimes, also Elon Musk's ex-girlfriend, just did an interview, and social media is tripping over her comments. Grimes AKA Claire Boucher spoke to Wired about several things from her interest in AI, to a little bit on her relationship with Musk.

And people on X, formerly Twitter and now owned by Grimes' ex Musk, are getting a renewed insight into this person who is described as 'mysterious' by Wired

Dating Elon Musk was "Best Internship"

  • Grimes did not speak a lot about her relationship with Elon Musk, but she did allow one question and another one later on.
  • Grimes described her relationship with Musk as the "best internship ever".
People don't like talking about Elon, but it was incredible to be right there watching all that SpaceX stuff happen.

Defending Elon's transphobic comments

  • This particular excerpt from Grimes' interview is especially irking netizens. We have all heard of Elon Musk's transphobic comments being aired online.
  • His own transgender daughter has legally cut off all relations with her father.
  • And Grimes talking about his controversial tweets against trans people said she asked Musk why he was so stressed about it and she also said she finally understood when he answered.
  • The answer is that Musk is concerned about "fertility issues".
I was like, OK, you don't hate trans people, you hate woke culture. I get that it can be annoying, and you have concerns about the fertility thing.
  • Grimes also told Musk that fertility tech will help trans people have children and then it "would solve a lot of problems".
  • People on X are not happy with Grimes' reasoning for Musk's transphobic comments and said that they are not someone's "problems" to be dealt with.

Di*k measuring contest

  • The Musk vs Zuck, Meta's CEO, contest may be fun sounding, but people are also concerned that it's just a very counterproductive way for rich and influential people to compete with each other when there are serious issues they need to address about their projects and ambitions.
  • Grimes is not super thrilled about the cage fight but said she'll take the credit for Musk challenging Mark Zuckerberg to a literal "di*k measuring contest" on X.
No, I was like, why don't you cut to the chase and get out a ruler. I didn't think he was going to tweet it.

Apart from Grimes's remarks on Elon Musk, the reactions of people on X are brutal. Some are describing Grimes as the most boring person ever with the most boring of responses, while others are saying that whenever she shares her thoughts, it is 'stupid' and are also calling her out for being a bigot herself.

Grimes wanting to check if Beethoven was ever actually deaf is making people accuse her of being one of those people who believe that specially-abled people are "faking" their disability or exaggerating the challenges they have to deal with.

An excerpt from Grimes's interview exposes the irony in her statements when she's talking about being "into" self-replication by AI. Grimes talking about her interest in self-replication wondered whether the interviewer had read much about it, presuming she was much more well-versed in all things AI and tech than the other person in the room, only to find out the interviewer had written a book on the subject.

And Grimes also went on to say she's "into" self-replication after only researching about it for a couple of days.
