Hawkeye lives to fight another day following a snow plow-related accident last weekend that left him in critical condition at the hospital.
The Academy Award-winning actor was airlifted to a hospital after he met with an accident while plowing snow. Though he remains in intensive care, his condition is said to be stable.
The 51-year-old actor shared a post-hospitalisation photo of himself on Instagram, suggesting that he is “too messed up now to type”.
Having spent New Year’s weekend up at his ranch in Nevada, United States, Renner was run over by his own snow plough, which weighed at least 6,500 kg - three times as heavy as a car - Washoe County Sheriff Darin Balaam said in a press conference.
While trying to free a family member driving his car from the snow, Renner made use of his PistenBully snow plow to tow the car free. Having left the snow plow seat to talk to the relative, the driverless plow began moving in his direction and crushed him after he attempted to get back into the driving seat.
According to his publicist, the actor suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries and had his leg tourniqueted to prevent further blood loss, as per reports from TMZ.
Several Marvel co-stars and fellow Avengers flooded his comment section with support and encouragement for their bow-wielding colleague.
