After Kourtney Kardashian-Travis Barker wedding, his ex-wife puts up her ring for auction
Travis Barker’s ex-wife, Shanna Moakler is all set to auction of her diamond wedding ring. The ex-couple shares two children; Landon Asher Barker and Alabama Luella Barker.
Moakler is auctioning her Cartier platinum ring which features a 4.01-carat solitaire-cut diamond in the centre and is surrounded by smaller 1.04-carat stones. The auction is currently taking place on Worthy, an online jewellery resale platform.
The bid is currently at US $ 72,360.75 (Rs 56 lakh) and is expected to go on till May 31. The ring was originally bought by Barker for US $160,000 (Rs 1.24 crore)
Moakler describes the ring as her dream ring and says, “However, that chapter of my life is over and even though wearing it at one time brought me great joy, I hope it will find a new home and continue to bring someone as much happiness as it once did to me. It’s truly an iconic ring.”
The Blink-182 singer proposed to the former Miss USA inside the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland California in 2003.
The wedding took place in Santa Barbara in 2004. The wedding was Nightmare Before Christmas-themed, with elements from Barker’s favourite movie, True Romance, thrown in.
The pair also had their own reality show named Meet the Barkers. Barker and Moakler were divorced in 2008.
On May 23 this year, Barker married Kourtney Kardashian in a gothic-styled wedding in Portofino, Italy. They previously got married in Las Vegas and legally married in a Santa Barbara courthouse.
Moakler told Us Weekly that the sale of her ring was not correlated to Barker and Kardashian’s wedding. “I wish the happy couple a lovely marriage. I will continue to only want the best for my children. It was a beautiful gesture to include my children in such a gorgeous affair,” she said.
Moakler hopes that the ring will sell for US $120,000.
