Netflix’s One Piece live action might just have its Nico Robin for season 2

The One Piece fandom is currently setting sail on the high seas of speculation, fueled by rumours surrounding Nico Robin's potential casting in Netflix's second season of the live-action adaptation. The series has been hailed for its spot-on casting choices, which have played a significant role in the show's massive success.

The archaeologist of the Straw Hat pirates and a pivotal character in the One Piece story, Nico Robin is set to make her appearance in the second season, particularly during the Alabasta arc.

With her calm and collected demeanor, Robin serves as the crew's older sister figure, exuding an aura of maturity that's as essential as Luffy's straw hat.

Choosing the right actress is akin to finding the One Piece itself – a quest of epic proportions.

Whispers of potential castings have been doing their rounds, with actresses like Anya Chalotra and Millie Brady making the rounds.

  • Chalotra, known for bewitching audiences as Yennefer in The Witcher, seems like a sorceress of a choice, bringing her piercing gaze and authoritative presence to the table.

  • Meanwhile, Brady, famed for her roles in The Queen's Gambit and The Last Kingdom, has proven she can handle complex characters with as much finesse as a seasoned pirate captain.

However, the latest and most promising speculation surrounds upcoming American actress and model, Erin Maloney.

The community has been abuzz with excitement after One Piece showrunner Matt Owens recently followed Maloney on Instagram, sparking speculation about a potential audition or even a confirmed casting.

Fans are already expressing confidence in this potential choice, citing Maloney's predisposed affinity for anime and of course, a striking resemblance to Robin herself.
