Prashanth Neel's directorial 'Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire,' starring Telugu superstar Prabhas, has made a remarkable opening at the box office. According to Sacnilk website, Salaar is anticipated to collect around Rs 48 crore in India on its first day, surpassing Dunki’s initial day collections by a significant margin.

The film generated tremendous anticipation among fans due to Prashanth Neel’s monumental success with the 'K.G.F' series, leading to high expectations for Salaar.

Leading collections in Telugu region

As reported by Sacnilk, Salaar is predominantly dominating in the Telugu-speaking states (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) owing to Prabhas's significant star power in this region.

On Friday, Salaar recorded sales of more than 22 lakh tickets for 16,593 shows, with a staggering 17 lakh tickets being sold for Telugu screenings alone, amassing Rs 38.25 crore.

The advance booking for Hindi screenings has also soared, accumulating Rs 5.62 crore in ticket sales for Hindi shows and Rs 1.9 crore for Tamil shows.

The Hindi audience is gradually showing interest in Salaar following positive reviews. Occupancy rates at IMAX screens are notably high, signifying the audience's willingness to pay more for an enhanced cinematic experience.

Moreover, there's an expected surge in screenings in the Northern Hindi-speaking states as Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki has received mixed responses.

Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire is a commercial entertainer with typical South Indian action, appealing to Hindi cinema-goers as well.

Audience reaction to Salaar

Reactions on social media platforms have been overwhelmingly positive for Salaar, indicating the audience's enthusiastic reception of the movie.

Despite facing competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki, Salaar is projected to gain momentum in the coming days with positive word-of-mouth.

About Salaar

Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire features Prabhas in a dual role and is based on Prashanth Neel’s 2014 release 'Ugramm.'

It narrates the story of Vardharaja Mannar (Prabhas) - the successor to the kingdom of Khansaar, who must flee his kingdom after a coup orchestrated by his ministers, resulting in the death of his father, Raja Mannar.

Vardharaja seeks refuge and joins forces with his childhood friend, Deva (also played by Prabhas), who helps him reclaim the throne as the undisputed King of Khansaar.
