Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn reunite before Pathaan release day with praise for each other

Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn might have had their bit of rivalry, but, off late, the two seem to have set aside their differences and have come out to support each other and their movies.

Ahead of the release of his movie Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan thanked Ajay Devgn for supporting him. In one of Shah Rukh's #AskSRK session on Twitter, a user asked Shah Rukh his response on Ajay Devgn, who called the advance booking of Pathan terrific. Shah Rukh responded by saying: "Ajay has been a pillar of support and love to me and my family for years. He is a wonderful actor and a beautiful human being. Strong and silent."

Ajay Devgn returned the favour by thanking Shah Rukh.. "Dear @iamsrk, thank you for your love and presence. I value the bond we share as much as you do. Pathan collections look poised to go through the roof. I'm happy that as an industry things are looking good for us," he wrote on Twitter.

What Devgn had said about Pathaan: During the teaser launch of Devgn's next film Bholaa, he commented on the advance bookings of Pathan. The actor said: "Pathaan is releasing and we hear that the advance bookings of the movie have been fantastic, which has never happened before. To mai dil se khush hoon, aur mai sabhi se kehta hoon, we should be very very happy for this.

Pathan's advance bookings shatter records: Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan's advance booking is creating records as the movie has sold 4.19 lakh tickets, up till Monday Mid-night.

  • With Pathan expected to sell 5.15 tickets by Tuesday, it is all set to surpass the advance booking collections of KGF 2.
  • According to trade analyst,Taran Adarsh, with 4.19 lakh tickets sold, Pathan stands at third position only behind KGF 2 (5.15 lacs) and Baahubali 2 (6.50 lacs).

  • Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan will feature Shah Rukh in a spy's role with John Abraham playing the villain. It is nearly after a hiatus of 5 years, that Shah Rukh Khan is returning to the silver screen.

Bollywood 's dry phase: Bollywood has been going through a rough phase post Covid-19 pandemic, as several movies have tanked at the box office sending producers into huge losses. Rohit Shetty's Circus was the last commercial failure and Ranveer's third movie to have flopped.

  • With exceptional commercial hits like The Kashmir Files, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhediya the Hindi film industry is going through the hardest time as South Indian movies like KGF 2 and Pushpa: The rise have dominated the theatres.
  • Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 2 was the last movie to have broken the ice at box office, as the movie turned out to be a blockbuster. Drishyam 2 surpassed all the expectations and has gone to mint Rs 345 crore worldwide.
  • With Pathaan, Shah Rukh too, is expected to end his dry spell at the box office, as his last movie Zero couldn't even touch the Rs 100-crore mark.
