Sushant Singh Rajput’s 2nd death anniversary: 5 movies of the actor you must watch

Two years ago on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his home in Bandra West, Mumbai. His sudden death at young age of 34 left his fans shattered. His death also sent shock waves in the entire film industry where Sushant had so much to give.

Sushant would be remembered for his innocent smile, his ingenuity, hard work and passion for his work. From television to cinema, the actor had given us some memorable performances.

1. KAI PO CHE (2013)

It was Sushant's first movie. Made by director Abhishek Kapoor, the movie was based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel Three Mistakes of My Life. The movie also had actors like Rajkumar Rao and Amit Sadh. Sushant played the character of Ishan, the fearless, full of life boy who enjoys life to the fullest. 

Sushant also won the Screen Awards for the Most Promising New Comer of the year.

2. DETECTIVE BYOMKESH BAKSHY (2015)

Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy was one of the best movies of Sushant Singh's. He plays the role of a private detective and is on a mission to solve the disappearance of a man from a factory. The movie also stars Neeraj Kabi in an important role.

Banerjee once said that Sushant would listen to him describe a scene, would go back and prepare for it the entire day, and then come back and shoot till he got the perfect shot.

3. CHHICHHORE (2019)

Made on a budget of just Rs 50 crore, the movie went on to mint around Rs 215 crore at the box office. In the movie, Sushant plays the role of a student and also of a father of a young boy who attempts suicide. The movie also received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi  in 2021.

4. MS DHONI: THE UNTOLD STORY (2016)

Sushant knocked it out of the park in his movie made on the life of cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sushant had left even impressed Dhoni with his performance. 

5. DIL BECHARA (2020)

Dil Bechara was the last movie of Sushant. Directed by casting director Mukesh Chhabra, in his directorial debut, Dil Bechara is based on John Green’s 2012 novel The Fault in Our Stars
