Based on comic books of the same name by Neil Gaiman, DC’s The Sandman is all set to premiere on August 5 on Netflix.

The trailer features Tom Sturridge as Dream/Morpheus and Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death and Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine. Mark Hamill will be voicing the character of Merv Pumpkinhead.

Netflix describes the show as “a rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman  follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.”
