The artists: While fans did get to hear a bit of Tems’s cover of Bob Marley’s No Woman, No Cry during the trailer, this is the first time they have heard A Body, A Coffin and Soy. The prologue is produced by Oscar and Grammy winner, Ludwig Göransson.

A Body, A Coffin is sung by Ghanian artist Amaarae and Soy is sung by Mexican rapper Santa Fe Klan.

The inspiration: Göransson shared that his inspiration for the Prologue came from extended trips to Mexico and Nigeria, and that he and Ryan Coogler built a music vocabulary for Black Panther’s characters, storylines and cultures.

“We built a catalogue of instrumental and vocal recordings with them that explored both traditional and non-traditional uses of their musical material. During the nights on these trips, we had recording sessions with contemporary artists who were akin to the characters and thematic material explored in the film. Using the script as a blueprint, along with the recordings from the traditional musicians, we began to build a musical vocabulary for the characters, storylines and cultures,” said Göransson.

Twitter says: Black Panther fans are loving the Wakanda Forever Prologue. Here is what they are saying:
