The eighth edition of ICC T20 World Cup has started and we have already seen two major upsets in two days. Asia Cup winner Sri Lanka were stunned by Namibia in the first match of Round 1 on Sunday (October 16), while in the second upset, Scotland defeated 2016 T20 world champions West Indies today (October 17).
To qualify for the main tournament or the Super 12, a total of 12 matches will be played between eight teams from Group A and Group B. Out of these eight, four teams will qualify.
After four teams have qualified for the main round, 16 teams will compete for the T20 World Cup title. Eight teams - India, Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Bangladesh and Afghanistan - have already qualified based on their previous performances. The Round 2 starts on October 22.

Super 12 or the main event: The Supter 12 stage, with six teams in each group, will start from October 22 with Australia and New Zealand squaring off in Sydney. The final match will take place on November 13.
