Where is Drew McIntyre? Is the wrestling star going to leave WWE?

There has been a lot of buzz going around about the future of wrestling star Drew McIntrye at the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Off late, McIntyre has been dropping hints of him parting ways with the company. 

The two-time WWE Champion recently competed in a triple-threat fight against Gunther and Sheamus at WrestleMania 39, and it seemed he was happy with his booking.

But, on April 16, McIntyre hinted that he might be leaving the company as he removed his WWE references from his Twitter account and replaced his Twitter profile picture with an all-black image.

PWInsider reported that McIntyre was not present for recording of SmackDown episodes in the last two weeks.

What’s the reason for this?

It was reported that MCintyre’s contract with the WWE was to expire soon and that the wrestler was keen on moving away from the company for sometime. 

It was also said that McIntyre was not happy with the creatives and the money which was being offered to him in his new deal. 

While the management seemed willing to retain McIntyre, the wrestler didn't feels the same way. 

McIntyre has been one of the best wrestlers in recent times for the company, and it was primarily the reason why he was elevated to a main event match at WrestleMania 36 with Brock Lesnar. But to his misfortune, he ended up winning a battle in an empty stadium.

Is AEW the next stop for Drew McIntyre?

Much of the talent of WWE after leaving the company ultimately moved to Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling. Be it Dean Ambrose, The Hardy Brothers or Daniel Bryan, wrestlers who felt they are not growing at WWE, moved to AEW.

CM Punk is another big example. And now, Drew McIntyre, who is one of the best wrestlers in the Smackdown segment, is rumored to be joining the AEW after his contract with WWE expires.

Will WWE let him go?

McIntyre has a lot of support with the WWE Universe and he brought a lot of cheer from the crowd. At present, he is one of the most popular WWE wrestlers and WWE would not let go of the Scottish Psychopath from the company easily.

But it also depends on whether McIntyre gives in to the new deal. It remains to be seen whether he makes his SmackDown appearance this Friday.
