But, why New York?

• New York has been selected as the venue for the India-Pakistan clash due to its significant population of Indian and Pakistani expatriates.
• The city boasts 711,000 Indian residents and over 100,000 Pakistani citizens.
• Given the likelihood of the T20 World Cup 2024 being held in the US and West Indies, ICC officials have been touring both countries in recent days to finalize tournament grounds and schedules.
• Organisers have agreed to schedule some of India's matches in New York due to the 10-and-a-half-hour time difference between New York and New Delhi. This timing allows matches to be broadcast in the morning, catering better to the Indian audience.

Final match in Barbados

• Although the final venue is yet to be confirmed, expectations point towards Barbados, known for hosting the finals of the 2007 ODI World Cup and a 2010 T20 event.
• ICC aims to engage the cricket-loving community in the US by hosting some matches there. As per reports, America has confirmed the utilization of three venues: Central Broward Park in Florida, Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas, and Eisenhower Park on Long Island.
• However, matches between England and Australia are more likely to take place in the West Indies.
