WWE Elimination Chamber 2023: Sami Zayn stands no chance against Roman Reigns

The road to WrestleMania 39 will see the final stop at Elimination Chamber at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada on February 18. And here, the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed Universal Championship against Sami Zayn, a friend-turned-foe. The fans are wondering if Zayn can beat Reigns at the mega event before the WrestleMania.

The answer lies in the history of the company's booking with championships. And that indicates a complete no for Sami Zayn. Though Zayn has been promoted well by the company in the recent weeks, and the build up of his rivalry with Roman Reigns has been one of the best ones, it is nearly impossible that Zayn will win the match.

Who will win the match? The match will be a high-voltage contest between the two but Reigns, who is in a heel character, is expected to win and retain the championship by getting some outside interference so that Zayn loses the fight.

What can be the three outcomes of the match?

1. Most probably, Kevin Owens, Zayn's real-life best friend, against whom Zayn turned during the War Games event, is expected to cost him the match. That also builds up a potential Zayn vs Owens match at WrestleMania with the two finally ending their storyline, with Owens winning the bout.

2. Another outcome can be the Bloodline members Usos and Solo Sikoa attacking Zayn with Owens entering the ring to save Zayn from them. This also leads a possibility of a Tag Team Championship match between The Usos and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. At present, Zayn and Jey Uso are tag team champions, but the partnership stands broken as Zayn has turned against the Bloodline.

3. Thirdly, Cody Rhodes, who is the Royal Rumble winner and is the favorite to win the Undisputed Championship at WrestleMania, can make an entry into the match and this also sets the precedent for the a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania, where Roman Reigns will defend the championship against Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes.

Who wins WrestleMania? Here, the catch is that the company can push Zayn for the WWE Universal Championship, as we have seen in the past few years that the Royal Rumble winner doesn't go on to win the Championship, contrary to what was the scenario a decade back.

In that case, among the three, Sami Zayn is the most favorite to win the WWE Universal championship, while Cody Rhodes is the second potential winner.

The title belt will indeed exchange hands, but not in Elimination Chamber. It is expected to happen at WrestleMania 39, and either Sami Zayn or Cody Rhodes will win it.
