5 relationship tips from the couple who never argued in 30 years of marriage

A couple who never argues is like North Korea becoming the world's greatest democracy. But this couple from Virginia, US, claims that they have never had a single argument in 30 years of their marriage.

Hannah Keeley and her husband Blair Keeley opened up about their relationship in a recent interview. The couple revealed that they have never had a single argument - not even during the parenting phase. According to Fox News, Hannah is a life coach and Blair is a marketing professional.

So, Hannah and Blair have seven children and they have never argued. How is that even possible? We are simply imagining them having an argument while making this claim and recollecting events from the past.

“Relationships are a skill, not a gift,” the couple told Fox News.

Well, they shared some tips as well. Now, you would want to know these as much as we do, am sure.

Here’s their list.

1. COMMUNICATION IS KEY

The couple chose communication over anger and this helped them avoid arguments. They share their feelings, expectations and emotions with each other. They also believe in developing skills of communication.

2. AVOID USING THE WORD ‘SHOULD’

Hannah and Blair advised other couples that they should avoid using the word ‘should’ while communicating. You should also avoid holding thoughts like: my partner should be different; he or she should do this; and so on.

3. SOLVE YOUR ISSUES BEFORE GOING TO BED

Hannah and Blair also believe that couples should not go to bed angry. Couples should develop a habit of solving their issues prior to bedtime because at night humans encode their cognitive experiences through the day.

So, avoid stretching your arguments and fights. End your day on a happy note.

4. READ BETWEEN THE LINES

Sometimes, words are not enough. Therefore, it is essential to pay attention to the body language of the other person. So, do not miss expressions, tone and gestures while having a conversation. This might help understand your partner in a better way.

5. CHALLENGE EACH OTHER TO GROW

According to Hannah and Blair, people try to complete and fix one another in a marriage. However, two people in a relationship are already complete. They should rather help challenge each other to grow.

BUT...

IT STILL SEEMS UNBELIEVABLE.

Just like us, many believe that not having a single argument in 30 years of marriage is unreal. But the couple responded to this and stated their reasons.

"People don’t have to believe we have never fought. It doesn’t bother us a bit. Those closest to us; the ones who live under our roof and see us 24/7, certainly believe it, and that’s all that matters to us — that we are making an impact on those who love us the most and know us the best," they said.
