Max Alexander is a 7-year-old couture design prodigy who has been making dresses since he was only 4-years-old. He's already been selling his dresses internationally, has made more than a hundred designs, held fashion shows and even commissioned a jacket for Sharon Stone. Alexander has been gaining popularity for his skills as a dressmaker.

  • In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, the first-grader and his mom said that his passion for designing and creating clothes led them to strongly believe that he was an incarnation of the legendary Italian designer Guccio Gucci, and Max said "I actually was."
  • Sherri Madison, who is Max's mom said that it wasn't until he was 4-years old that his passion for dressmaking was discovered.
  • She went on to say, "We were at dinner during the lockdown, and he just literally announced, 'I need a mannequin'. "He was very serious. No laughing. I was like, 'Okay, I've never seen you interested in fashion. What are you talking about?' He said, 'That's because I don't have a mannequin. If you get me a mannequin, I'll show you. I'm a dressmaker.' "
  • Right after Madison made him his first cardboard mannequin, Max started making his dresses.
  • Sherri Madison taught Max how to sew on a sewing machine, and later on she put Max in a sewing class at a local sewing shop to learn more.

Designing clothes is in his genes

  • Sherri Madison realized that designing was in her son's genes.
  • She said, "It turns out his grandparents were in the fashion business in Montreal. My grandparents and my mom were all sewists, but Max didn't know any of that, it came out of nowhere."
  • Max is very committed to his passion of designing and fashion.

Max wants to make people feel beautiful

  • Since Max Alexander was 4-years-old he's always been telling his mother that his main goal is to "make people feel beautiful".
  • He doesn't design any men's wear and is solely focused on designing clothes for women. He wants "women of all sizes to feel beautiful".

Madison told PEOPLE that Max dreams of becoming a big designer. "He wants to be the head of the house of Gucci or he wants to have his own atelier, Couture to the Max Italian." And Max's advice to those kids who want to get into fashion and designing is that "practice makes perfect."

Isn't it incredible to see a 7-year old design such beautiful dresses and work with such passion, what do you think?
