Why Aamir Khan's beefed-up look in Dangal is deceptive

Did Aamir Khan use steroids to get the beefed up Dangal look? Vlogger thinks so

Some actors are known for their immense dedication to look and feel the part they are playing down to the T. Aamir Khan is definitely one of them. The man’s filmography is a testament to the kind of a perfectionist he is.

For his upcoming film Dangal, the superstar has once again made the audience gasp in awe, with a video about how he first gained weight for the part and then, almost magically, brought himself back to an eight-pack-abs perfection.

In Dangal, Khan plays the role of former Indian Olympics wrestler and senior wrestling coach Mahavir Phogat. While most of the movie revolves around his life post retirement – when he was chubby and had a nice paunch – there are parts of the movie that features Phogat in the prime of his youth, rippling with muscles and jacked up. Khan, thus, had to gain about 28 kilos, and then consequently lose all that fat in just less than six months. That is certainly an extraordinary feat for anyone, more so for a 51-year-old man.

In the video, we get to see Aamir working his butt off, and sweating it out, ultimately managing to look better and fitter than regular 20-somethings. His video caused a lot of buzz, after all, it isn’t everyday that you get to see someone being this dedicated to their work. The video, like others in the past, has another side effect: it has created a sudden frenzy for fitness.

But in that fitness frenzy, one has to remember one thing: there is always more than meets the eye. Aamir Khan may be awesome, but it is nearly impossible to have achieved what he did, in that kind of a time frame without a little “something something” on the side – steroids.

Ranveer Allahbadia, a fitness vlogger, who runs the channel Beer Biceps in his latest video, points out just why it is more than likely, that Aamir Khan’s magical transformation may be less magical that it seems. He talks about the tell tale signs of recognising someone who uses steroids and hormonal supplements and Aamir Khan "fits the bill" on all counts.

Watch the video here:

Allahbadia ends his video with a warning about the possible consequences of abusing steroids and hormonal supplements. He notes that Aamir Khan, being as rich and privileged as he is, would have access to the best products and genuine professional guidance; which is something most Indian fitness freaks would not have.

His advice: Stay away from steroids and rightly so.

Anabolic steroid abuse has been associated with a wide range of adverse side effects ranging from minor problems like acne and breast development in men, to life threatening ones, such as heart attacks and liver cancer. Most are reversible if the abuser stops taking the drugs, but some are permanent, such as voice deepening in females.
