How to get a Go First refund if you booked a flight ticket with the airline

Indian budget airline Go First filed for bankruptcy on May 2, and it has cancelled all its flights for the next three day - May 3, 4, and 5. The reason given for its bankruptcy was the delays in the delivery of Pratt & Whitney engines, which led to the grounding of 25 of its aircrafts - about half of its fleet of Airbus A320neo planes.

  • Go First is owned by Indian business conglomerate Wadia Group.
  • The airline blamed Pratt & Whitney for not delivering an order - which included supplying "at least 10 serviceable spare leased engines by 27 April 2023".

How can customers get their ticket refund:

So, if you have a Go First ticket booked for any three days - May 4, 5 or 6, and have been affected by the suspension of the flights, here's how you can get a ticket refund:

Here's a step-by-step process:

  • Go to the FAQ page.
  • After you land on this page, click on the tab 'Customers' and it will take you to the refund-related Question and Answers.
  • Go First says that if a customer booked their ticket either through the Go First website, credit shell or through an online travel aggregator, "refunds will be processed to the original modes of payment".

Go First also went on to say that you cannot reschedule your ticket to a future date because "currently there is no availability to reschedule on your sector".
