The Ex to The Crush, 5 types of Instagram profiles most people stalk guilt-free

Instagram is not just about watching reels, sharing pictures, liking posts, running a business and more. These days, it is also about stalking people or (you could call it research.)

Accept it or not, we are all guilty of having a fake account, which is wholly and solely used for stalking people. From who drank what last night to the latest quarrel in your extended family circle, Instagram provides you all.

If the information you require is not enough on Instagram, then you move to other social media platforms.

The stalking list of various individuals often remains the same. There is a set of common people that everyone stalks or has staked at some point or the other till the one who is stalked says:

Here’s a list that you can relate to.

5 types of people everyone stalks (any day, anytime):

1. The Ex(es)

This is probably why you created that fake account at the first place.

We all stalk the ex, the ex before the latest one, the one before that and so on. It is exactly the opposite of what we should be doing: that is moving on.

Instead, we fall deep down the rabbit hole. We stalk and stalk and track their day-to-day activities: and then feel bad about it for no reason.

2. The Crush

That one person whose attention everyone craves is the Crush.

Stalking them gives a little hope to a dull day. Right?

But then, this stalking soon transforms into obsession. In the end, you post stuff according to your crush’s preference and wait for their reaction.

3. The Partner/Crush’s Ex

Curiosity or insecurity, either of them or both of them could be the reason behind stalking your partner’s ex. No matter how hard you try, you always end up typing that name in the search bar.

If you are single, then you are definitely stalking your crush’s ex (worst case scenario: crush’s current partner).

4. That competitive friend/colleague

Remember all the fights and arguments you have had during school, college or at your previous organisation?

After a while, it becomes really important to stalk them (for no reason).

Maybe you just want to check their progress and compare. Trust me, it is not good for your mental health.

5. Someone we don’t know

Remember that night when you kept jumping from one profile to another and landed on the profile of someone you don’t even know? You would probably not meet that person in this life.

But the stalker in you loves stalk the unstalkeable as well.

Are you guilty of stalking these? Let us know in the comments.
