It's college fest season in Delhi University, and yet again, women's colleges are bearing witness to harassment by male attendees who entered the premises without any passes.
Today, IPCW's fest was going when drunk men climbed the walls, forcefully entered the campus and harrassed Gender minorities.

Much like Miranda House’s Tempest and Gargi College’s Reveries in the past, a few drunk men interrupted Indraprastha College for Women’s (IPCW) annual fest Shurti by scaling the college walls and even allegedly harassing female students. The incident drew social media outrage on March 28, 2023 (Tuesday).

Eyewitnesses such as IPCW alumna and the student organisation All India Students Association (AISA) DU unit secretary Anjali shared on social media that the men were chanting slogans to intimidate the girls.
These slogans, referring to similar cases of harassment at Miranda House, ranged from "Miranda, IP dono hamara (Miranda House and Indraprastha College both are ours)" and "Miranda nahi chhoda to IP bhi nahi chhodenge (We didn't spare Miranda, we won't spare IP either)".
The Delhi Police have assembled at IP College and detained many of the students and AISA members who had assembled outside to protest against the harassment.

The students have been claiming since yesterday that the college administration and police were inefficient in stopping the ruckus. They also criticised the college authorities for locking up IPCW hostelers instead of taking any prompt action against the men.
DCP North Sagar Singh Kalsi told PTI that seven men were detained and more arrests can be expected based on further footage-based investigation. More developments by the police and student bodies are awaited.
