It's distressing to note that Piyush Pal was left unaided on the road for over 20 minutes, with bystanders choosing to take photos and videos instead.
Pal's friend Swarnendu Bose informed PTI that, "It was only when a bike taxi aggregator along with three other men picked him up and rushed him to a nearby hospital."
Bose also mentioned that Pal's Go-Pro camera, which he used for his documentary work, was missing. Additionally, Pal's mobile phone and laptop were also taken. Despite Pal's parents attempting to reach their son through his phone, the person who had taken it would disconnect the calls and eventually turn the phone off.
Bose emphasized that Pal's life might have been saved if he had received timely assistance and been taken to the hospital promptly.
