WHY IS THE G-20 SO IMPORTANT FOR INDIA? The Prime Minister's statement on the Ukraine crisis at the summit is significant as India will assume the presidency of the powerful grouping from the current chair Indonesia on December 1 amid the war in Ukraine and this gives India a lot of responsibility to speak on global issues and conflicts. And this will also boost India's chances to get a permanent seat in the UN Security Council.
